A FLINT HorrOrigin Story: Part One
“Family Ties”
My name is Scarlet Flint; you don’t need to know middle name right now.
This might sound cliché, but, I’m not your average woman. I’m certainly not the girl next door, that’s for damn sure. I’m...well, maybe it would just be best to start at the beginning you know.
I wish I could sit here and say I was born to a wonderful family, with a loving mother and father who cared for me. I wish I could say I grew up in the best part of California, went to a nice suburban school. I wish I could say mom and dad threw me a fancy party on my 16th birthday and bought me nice, shiny BMW.
But, I can’t…
To be perfectly honest, I don’t even know who my parents are; I can’t even tell you their first names.
What I do know is that they didn’t want me.
According to the state of California, I was given up for adopt very shortly. Why? Who knows? Maybe they didn’t have the money to take care of me; or, maybe they just didn’t want me. I used to think about it a lot when I was younger; however, it doesn’t really matter now does it?
So as baby I got tossed into the great big wonderful world of the California Foster Care System!
Yay!
I could tell you stories for days; perhaps I’ll save all that for another day though.
What’s important to know is that I floated around foster care for a number of years. Normally, babies get picked up pretty quickly; for whatever reason, that didn’t happen with me. Two years went by before a family showed interest in me.
I was taken in by a family, Mr. and Mrs. Vincent. That didn’t last long however. Again, that’s a story for another time...perhaps next time even. I was taken from the Vincent’s and quickly placed back into foster care.
So once again I floated around, that is until the Flint’s came into my life. Sam and Emma Flint, the hardest working man and woman that I know. Both of them were originally from the Mid-West, but they made their way to Cali.
Sam worked at a factory Monday through Friday; and then on the weekends he sometimes did construction. Emma made a living as a house cleaner. She’d go to all the wealthy people’s houses and spit-shine them.
The Flint’s weren’t rich by any means; however, they made enough to survive. And, they made enough to make sure I was well taken care of. They couldn’t give me the suburban school and home, the fancy 16th birthday party, or the BMW; nonetheless, they took me in and gave me love―what more could I ask for?
When I got a bit older, the two of them adopted me―I became a Flint.
I...I became part of a family.
Hmm, I just realized I’ve been talking about them in the past tense, as if they are dead or something. That’s not the case; they both are very much alive. I...I just don’t get to see them very often.
Like I said before, the Flint’s believed in hard work; they were both scrappy, and they intended for me to be the same way. So when I turned 18, Sam and Emma sent me off into the world. Or, they kicked me out of the house; that’s the most direct way to say it. They worked hard and made they own path and they wanted me to do the same thing.
Hmm, you know, this is a great place to stop for today. I’ll continue with this story next time.

“Adventures in NY”
So, Ielahiah invited me to visit her in New York for Thanksgiving; of course, I jumped at the chance. Sure, I travel around a bit for wrestling; however, I rarely get a chance to leave the “wonderful” state of California. So, I found a cheap flight and headed out that way.
Now, I could write about all the family stuff that we did; but, that isn’t very interesting now is it? Let’s just say we ate stuff, trained, and bonded.
But, what WAS intriguing is come of the other stuff that went down while I was there.
During the course of a few days I was approached by three different wrestling promotions. So, let’s get into that. The first was Boardwalk Wrestling. If you are a wrestling fan, then I don’t need to tell you about that promotion; in a very time, the company grew and became one of the hottest in the U.S. The second company is NGW. It’s an upstart company...they don’t even have any wrestlers on the roster yet. Could be a good chance to break out and what not. The last company to contact me was RRS, which for all intents and purposes are the remnants of WARPED Wrestling.
Three offers in four days, how about that?
So, what did I do?
I turned down Boardwalk. Did it offer me good money? Of course they did. Is it the most “prestigious” out of the three that contracted me? Yes of course. But honestly, I felt I wasn’t a good fit for the company...not yet. That roster is huge, and it would be difficult for me to stand out.
And NGW? Well, I just wasn’t that into it.
I did agree to one match with RRS though. I get the opportunity to face a guy named Jackson. Yeah, THAT Jackson; the one who is like 60 and has one 7000 title belts. I’d be foolish to pass up a chance to defeat someone like him.
But again, it’s only for one match.
You see, what those companies didn’t know is that I already had my eyes set on a promotion; and that promotion was WMW. Secretly, I had been in talks with WMW before I went out there; and now, my contract has been finalized.
In all honesty, WMW is the right choice for me. It’s not in Cali, so I’ll get a chance to travel. The roster is established, but smaller; that means I’ll have a good chance to stand out. And the money is right of course.
So now it’s official, Scarlet Flint―WMW wrestler.
Now...I just have to convince Ielahiah to join up.

•On Camera
Never in my wildest dreams did I think my first match in WMW would be in the Main Event. I mean, I’ve had good matches lately and all that. However, I was fully prepared to “pay my dues” and all that jazz. You know, start at the bottom, kick some ass, and move up the ranks while terrorizing the rest of the roster.
Nonetheless, the powers that be feel that I’m ready to be in their main event.
I’ve got no complaints.
And, never in my wildest dreams did I think my first match could potentially lead to the Women’s World Championship. Apparently this is supposed to be a best of five series; three wins, and I could be holding my first belt.
It appears that my decision to sign with WMW has already paid off.
But, enough mindless babbling; let me address my two opponents for this match.
Nicki Vaughn…
But I get into this...I’d like to say congratulations. On the company’s first card, you went out there and you won. No, I’m mistake...you went out there and you kicked ass. I know the term “squash match” is normally frowned upon, so, let’s just say you heavily dominated that match up.
It’s quite clear that your domination earned you a spot in this match.
So again, congratulations.
But dear, let me make something perfectly clear to you―I am not Cassie Brooks. I don’t know Cassie personally; I’m sure she is a lovely woman. But, the fact of the matter is she didn’t get the job done out there two weeks ago. The fact of the matter is she got embarrassed in her first match her...on WMW’s first card.
Nicki, I talked about my surprised of being into the main event. But, honestly Nicki, how do you think I really got here? Do you think I’d be placed in this main event if I was some green, piece of shit rookie? Do you truly think WMW would put me in this position if I was ready to show out and perform?
Let me tell you something about me. I’ve only been wrestling for about a year and few months. I’m not a superstar by any means; I don’t get recognized in the streets or stopped in public. Hell, I don’t even wrestle full time; I have a job at Starbucks and wrestle on the weekends normally.
But I’m good Nicki.
I’m good enough to have some of the best companies in the world clamoring over me, without even watching a match of mine. Nicki, do you understand that those companies contacted me off of sheer name value alone?
If you are smart, that should tell you something.
Like I said before miss, I’m not Cassie. You aren’t going to storm into this match and dominate...at least, you aren’t going to come in and dominate me. Don’t let my size fool you love―Scarlet Flint definitely hits harder…
Much harder than you!
The fact of the matter is you are about to step into a war dear. I don’t you who you have faced in this Business, and I don’t know where else you have wrestled. But what I DO know is that you have yet to face a wrestler like me. You haven’t been in the ring with an opponent who could the match into an Olympic track meet. You’ve never faced an opponent who could tie you up into a pretzel in a blink of an instant. And you’ve never been hit so hard that you wished you in another country.
That’s the kind of wrestler that you will be facing very shortly.
That is the essence of Scarlet Flint.
And unfortunately for you, I’m going to have to kick it up just an extra notch love. This just isn’t a simple match; Hell, this just isn’t a simple main event.
No ma’am.
I’ve got to kick it up a notch because this match’s implications are so great. This is my chance to become a champion. This is my chance to create a legacy for myself in this Business.
This is my chance to show the world just how legit Scarlet Flint is!
And I’m not going to allow you to stand in my way love―sorry.
…
Oh yes, I’ve saved the “best” for last. Let’s get to you, Ms. Nash.
Ha, I guess I really should consider myself luck shouldn’t I? It’s my good fortune to be able to take on two “legends” in two straight weeks. Now, it may be a bit overzealous to consider you a “legend” this early; however, I’ve done my research:
You’ve worked for numerous promotions all over the world, including UWF, USW, HCW, and 4CW...just to name a few.
If there is one word to describe you, then it is “accomplished.” I’m not going to sit here and list all the titles you’ve won; that would take too long. But, I counted about 13, if I’m not mistaken.
And lastly, you’ve been in this Business for a while; certainly longer than myself or Nicki. Surely in that time you’ve traveled the world, and squared off against the best of the best.
On paper, it would appear that you’d have the advantage in this match; you’ve got the name value, and you’ve got the experience factor.
Do you know what’s truly beautiful about this sport though, Christine? Matches aren’t decided on paper; those matches aren’t won in the margins. Wins and losses are determined by the Heart and Drive of each competitor in the center of that ring!
I commend you for all your accomplishments, all your title reigns.
I commend you for all your years of hard work.
And, I commend you for everything that you’ve brought to the Business.
However, what you need to understand is that all of that goes out of the window the moment you and I step into that ring. Because in this match, you aren’t some “living legend” that deserves praise; you aren’t some person that I should lift my head and looked up to. No ma’am. When you and I enter that ring this week, you are nothing more than just another opponent. You’re just another opponent who wants to bad mouth and degrade me; you’re just another opponent who wants to hurt and maim me. You’re just another opponent who wants to step on my neck, as you climb to the top of the ladder…
And I’ll be damned if I ever let that happen!
Let me tell you something Christine, and, it’s probably something that you already know. The truth of the matter is I didn’t come here to play second fiddle. I didn’t come here to sit in the corner and twiddle my thumbs while someone else shines in the spotlight.
No ma’am.
I came here to WMW to do to do two things: to have some kick ass wrestling matches, and...to be on top. And in one single match...in my first match, I’ve got a chance to accomplish both of those goals!
Christine, it honestly doesn’t matter whether you hate me or love me, whether you think I deserve to be in this position or not. All that really matter is that I am in this match; and, believe me when I say this―I’m going to do everything in my power to win.
Ha, now I’m sure you are probably going to come back with a few futile retorts.
“But Scarlet, I’m so much more taller than you!”
My stiff strikes will chop you down to my size by the end of the night.
“You can’t even lift me up, you’re a light weight!”
Christine, who needs suplexes and slams when I could simply just tie you up―or kick you dead in the face.
“What about my experience!?”
Simple―I’m like no other that you’ve ever faced before.
Now, I may be throwing in small jokes here and there, but make no mistake Christine...I don’t play games. That electric pulse that goes up my spine each and every time I step into a ring, that’s not a game. The feeling of pure bliss I receive each time stiff, bone jarring shot, that’s not a game.
This sport isn’t just a damn game to me.
My goal is to win this match Christine. And like I said before, I’m going to do so by any means necessary. I’m fully prepared for this match; and, I’m ready to kick a little ass.
I just hope you...and Nicki, are ready to receive what I’m going to be dishing out. Nonetheless, whether you are prepared or not, Scarlet Flint is going to bring the pain.
…
There are two things that everyone wrestler wants, and if they don’t, then they probably need to pack up their bags and leave.
Every wrestler should want to be in the main event…
And, every wrestler should want to be a champion.
Normally, those two things signify something; those two aspects normally put the entire world one notice. They let the world know one thing…
That you are the best.
This week, I’ve got the opportunity to kill those two birds with one stone. Although it was a surprise, it is an honor to be placed in the main event in my first WMW match. And, it’s an even larger honor to be considered worthy to compete for the WMW Women’s World Championship.
Scarlet Flint―World Champion…
That has a nice ring to it doesn’t it?
Me becoming a World Champion...hmm, it would almost be poetic justice. I’ve gone through a lot of shit in my life, a lot of terrible shit. Yet, I’m standing here before you al, forged by fire and adversity. Everything that I’ve gone through has brought me to this very point, to this very opportunity, to this very match.
I realize that things don’t end here. This is just the first match out of five...if it comes down to that. Odds are it’s going to be a long, grueling road to that belt.
Fortunately for me, I’m pretty used to traveling down that road; I’ve been doing so for years.
I’m ready to walk down that road...and, I’m ready to fight. Nicki isn’t going to stand in my way, Christine isn’t going to stand in my way; the owner herself isn't’ going to stop me.
No one, nothing is going to stop me until I’ve got my hands onto that championship!
But...it all starts with this one match.
